2018 Hall of Fame Inductees

Carl Beeman, a graduate of the class of 1976, returned to the high school for a 30-year career in teaching Agricultural Sciences. During his career, he advised a countless number of students involved in the Future Farmers of America and was instrumental in getting a Vocational Agriculture building added to the school’s facilities.  He continues to be involved at PCHS and in the community on the Pueblo County Fair Board, 4-H, and with the CSU Extension Office in Huerfano County. He has served as the superintendent of the Colorado State Fair Children’s Barnyard for the past 37 years.

John Klomp joined the teaching and coaching staff at PCHS in 1966, and became its principal in 1973. He guided PCHS through heavy growth and expansion and set the standard for teachers and students alike to maintain self-discipline and loyalty to the school. He then continued to serve District 70 as Assistant Superintendent and later went on to serve Pueblo County as District 1 Pueblo County Commissioner.

Joe Pannunzio received an athletic scholarship upon graduation from PCHS in 1978 to play football at then University of Southern Colorado. While there, he earned his first stint in coaching as the wide receivers’ coach in 1981, which would eventually lead to an illustrious coaching career in college football and the National Football League.  Presently, Pannunzio is the Tight Ends/Special Teams Coordinator for the nationally ranked powerhouse Alabama Crimson Tide football team.

Pete Pisciotta, a member of the first PCHS senior class of 1954, will receive the award posthumously. Pisciotta, known to his students as “Mr. Mathematics,” began his teaching career at Pueblo Catholic High School in 1958, eventually leading to a 35-year teaching, coaching and athletic administration career in Arizona community colleges. While in Arizona, he founded the Valley of the Sun Bowl in Phoenix, the oldest continuous bowl game in the NJCAA division. The MVP award for the bowl game is called the Pete Pisciotta Most Valuable Player Award in his honor.
