2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

Carmen Avalos - Class of 1974
Carmen Avalos is a 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee of the Pueblo County High Alumni Foundation and a true embodiment of dedication, perseverance, and heart. Throughout her life, Carmen has demonstrated exceptional balance and a clear sense of purpose. She and her husband, Rick, raised three wonderful daughters while building a life centered on faith, family, and service. At 33 years old, she made the bold decision to pursue higher education, earning her bachelor’s degree, followed by her master’s degree and Principal Licensure—an achievement that reflects her determination and commitment to growth.
Carmen began her career in education as a teacher at Baca Elementary, where her natural leadership quickly became evident. She later became principal of Avondale Elementary School, a role in which she truly thrived. As principal, she cultivated a warm, inclusive school culture grounded in respect, collaboration, and love. She empowered staff to grow professionally, ensured every student felt valued and supported, and strengthened meaningful partnerships with families.
Her compassion and commitment to service extend far beyond the school walls. She volunteered at local nursing homes, served in church ministries, and mentored youth through outreach efforts. She has served on the Pueblo Head Start and Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation Boards and is a founding member of the Pueblo County High School Alumni Foundation, where she continues to serve.
Carmen’s dedication has been recognized through numerous honors, including the 2008 Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation Outstanding Educator of the Year, the 2008 Anna Tausig Recipient presented by the YWCA, induction into the Colorado State University Hall of Fame, the 2020 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Game Changer Award, and the 2025 Pueblo City-County Library District Outstanding Women Award. These recognitions reflect her lasting impact, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the Pueblo community.

Andy Beeman - Class of 1977
Andy Beeman was a 1977 graduate. A 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee to the Pueblo County High Alumni Foundation. He attended District 70 schools and had a 38-year career working for District 70. His education included a BA USC Pueblo, MA University of Northern Colorado, and his Principal Licensure from Denver University. Andy was a teacher, coach, Principal and Director of Personnel for District 70. Andy was instrumental in developing the Negotiated Agreement, serving on the bargaining team for 25 years, on both sides of the table. As a Media Specialist, Andy brought technology into the classroom. He helped bring the media centers into the digital age. Working through continuous budget shortfalls, Andy helped transition to the four-day week, guided the District through the outsourcing of school transportation, and worked throughout his career striving for good wages and a positive school/work environment. After retirement, Andy continues to serve the community by being on several boards that focus on education, educators and serve special needs populations and the underserved.

Robert Colletti - Class of 1973
Robert Colletti is a proud member of the Pueblo County High School Class of 1973 and a 1976 graduate of the University of Southern Colorado, where he earned a degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology. He has dedicated his life to serving the youth of Southern Colorado, impacting the lives of hundreds of adolescents in need of guidance and support. After beginning his career in juvenile justice in St. Louis, he returned home to Pueblo, where he spent more than 30 years with the Division of Youth Corrections at the Pueblo Youth Services Center (PYC). His leadership culminated in his role as Director from 1998 until his retirement in 2006.
Robert began coaching shortly after graduating high school and continued for more than 40 years, guiding youth in football and baseball while instilling values of discipline, character, and teamwork. He remains a constant presence at local sporting events and activities as his grandchildren now represent Pueblo County High School.
Robert’s deep roots run generations with his parents graduating from Lakeside-Vineland High School in 1939. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Snell, in 1977, and together they built a close-knit family of four children and 10 grandchildren. Robert instilled a “green and gold” mentality into his family- his four children are all alumni of PCHS and have remained close to home as educators and coaches in District 70. He is a lifelong parishioner and parish council member of St. Therese-Vineland Church, and has devoted over 25 years to parish leadership. Robert's life reflects an unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community, truly embodying the green-and-gold spirit of Pueblo County High School.
