2024 Scholarship Recipients
Kylie Smith
Kylie Smith, a dedicated scholar and leader, is honored with the prestigious PCHS Alumni Scholarship valued at $3000. She will graduate with the Class of 2024 with a 4.6 GPA. Throughout her high school journey at Pueblo County, Kylie was actively engaged in various extracurricular activities. As a four-year member of Student Government, she demonstrated her passion for shaping her school community. Additionally, her three-year participation in the National Honor Society underscores her dedication to both academic achievement and service. Kylie's involvement extended beyond academics; she was an integral part of the DECA community, qualifying for and attending State competitions during both her junior and senior years. Moreover, her leadership skills were evident as a member of the Girl's Cabinet during her senior year. Dancing has been a cherished part of Kylie's life since the age of three, with Sarah Shaw Dance Studio. With a clear vision for her future, Kylie is set to embark on the next chapter of her academic journey at Colorado State University-Pueblo. There, she will pursue a major in Liberal Studies, complemented by minors in Elementary Education and Leadership Studies.

Johnathan Gonzales
Johnathan Gonzales is the recipient of the Alumni scholarship worth $1500. He will graduate with the class of 2024 with a GPA of 3.58. He was a three-year letterman in football, two-year in basketball and baseball, and one year in tennis and track. He qualified for state or went to playoffs in tennis, track, football, basketball, and baseball. He was a team captain for both football and basketball. He made Academic All-State multiple semesters. Johnathan received numerous awards over the years at County. For football, he was SCL Defensive Second Team sophomore year, SCL Defensive First Team junior year, and SCL Defensive and Offensive First Team senior year while also being selected CHSAA Second Team ALL-State. Basketball SCL All-Defensive Team junior year, SCL First Team senior year, and ALL-State Honorable Mention. He qualified for the All-State baseball game his junior year. Johnathan will attend Colorado State University-Pueblo, where he received an athletic scholarship to play football for the Thunderwolves while majoring in Construction Management.

Katelynn Neal
Katelynn Neal is the recipient of the Alumni scholarship worth $1500. She will be graduating with the Class of 2024 with a GPA of 4.65. She was a member of Girl’s Cabinet, Stellar Xplorers, HOSA, and TSA. She has taken classes in SEBS, through the biomedical strand. Katelynn was a four-year letterman in girl's golf. Katelynn will attend South Dakota School School of Mines and Technology and will major in Mining Engineering.
MaKayla Padilla
MaKayla Padilla is the recipient of the Alumni scholarship worth $1500. She will graduate with the class of 2024 with a GPA of 4.0. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government, and Girls Cabinet. She also played basketball for three years and was a four-year letterman in Track and field. She was appointed class President her junior year. She will attend the University of Central Oklahoma to study funeral and forensic science.

Andrew White
Andrew White was the recipient of the 2024 Alumni Foundation Scholarship worth $1,500. While at Pueblo County High School, Andrew participated in the SEBS Academy focusing on Creative Technologies. He earned an academic letter all four years. He will be graduating with the Class of 2024 with a GPA of 4.45. Andrew played tennis, basketball, and baseball while at Pueblo County. On the tennis team he was a three-year varsity letter recipient, he placed 8th in the state with his partner for #2 doubles during his sophomore year and earned the CHSSA Academic All-State First Team his junior and senior years. Andrew also participated on the E-Sports team both his junior and senior years; both years he was the team captain. Sting TV was also something that Andrew participated in as a part of the SEBS Creative Technologies program, developing the Pueblo County Sports Experience Podcast. In addition to Andrew’s academic and athletic activities, he also worked after school and on the weekends at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. Andrew plans to attend the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in the fall majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in Cybersecurity.
